Head of Estates - Client Side

Manchester

Salary £45,000 - £50,000 plus impressive benefits package.

Hexagon Group are working with a prestigious higher education organisation who pride themselves on providing a first class environment for their students. Situated in the heart of Manchester, our client is committed to excellence in education and strives to create an inspiring atmosphere for both students and staff. They have a unique and rare opportunity for a Head of Estates to join their Estates Management team.

As the Head of Estates, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations for the educational properties under the group. You will lead a dedicated team of facilities & estates individuals responsible for the management, maintenance, cleaning of the property's facilities; whilst creating an environment that aligns with our client's commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the cleaning, maintenance, security of the buildings and estates, managing a team of direct employees, liaising with on-site specialist contractors.
  • Management of the PPM schedule and reactive works
  • Working with various external teams on multi-million pound refurbishment projects.
  • Management of the estates budget, and ensuring you are working within the financial restraints, whilst getting value for money.
  • Carrying out tender processes when identifying new service partners
  • Driving the energy & sustainability programme across the estates
  • Management of the BMS Systems across the portfolio

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience working in an estates / facilities capacity within the educational sector.
  • Hold an industry recognised qualification / membership such as IWFM, NEBOSH, IOSH, RICS
  • Ideally, if you hold an industry related degree this may also put you at an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities & estates; familiar with both hard & soft services and have worked at a senior level.
  • Experienced managing a team and acting as a mentor.

You will be an ambitious, driven individual who enjoys a challenge, and your work may be rewarded in the next 18 months with a promotion as there's the possibility for some movement in the senior management team.
